The Subversion of Marriage (Same-Sex Marriage)

A momentous, seismic shift in the culture just happened. I’m sure most of us are aware that on Friday, June 26, the SCOTUS handed down a decision legalizing SSM in all 50 states.

Here’s the language of the decision:

The Fourteenth Amendment requires a State to license a marriage between two people of the same sex and to recognize a marriage between two people of the same sex when their marriage was lawfully licensed and performed out-of-State.

The Equal Protection Clause, like the Due Process Clause, prohibits [the] unjustified infringement of the fundamental right [of homosexuals] to marry.

Each State in this country is now (1) required to license same-sex marriages, and (2) required to recognize same-sex marriages from other States.

This decision struck down the state constitutional amendments of Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee that defined marriage as between one man and one woman.
