What to Expect on Sunday Morning

Profile: We are currently a small congregation of approximately 60 people, from young children to seniors and from many backgrounds, attending on a regular Sunday.

Dress: Dress is modest and comfortable. Some people “dress up,” while others are more casual. Dress for the occasion–the worship of God.

Sunday School: Classes are available for people of all ages. After a short opening session, students head off to their classes and adults may attend one of two classes. Sunday school lasts from 9:30 to 10:15 am.

Music: The music we use at LBC is conservative and traditional. We appreciate the rich traditional hymns from the past and also incorporate newer works into our services. We often enjoy the musical ministry of soloists, small groups, and ensembles. We have a small band that often accompanies congregational singing.

Worship Service: Our morning worship service begins at 10:30 am. During this time, we sing several songs, offer prayers of praise and supplication to God, hear Scripture read, give our offerings and tithes, and listen to the pastor preach a message from the Bible. We seek to make our times of worship reverent and fitting to the purpose of the meeting. We observe the Lord’s Supper (communion) on the first Sunday of each month.

Sermons: Preaching for the morning service is usually expositional in nature, meaning that it seeks to declare the point of a particular Biblical passage. Sermons usually last about thirty minutes. We are typically working through a book of the Bible during the morning worship service and alternate between the Old and New Testaments.

After the Sermon: While some people leave soon after the service, many stay around to fellowship and chat. Occasionally we’ll enjoy a meal after the morning service.

What to Expect on Sunday Afternoons

The Sunday afternoon service starts at 1:30 and is typically composed of a few hymns, announcements, a Bible lesson, and prayer. This service lasts about an hour.

The ensemble (small choir) rehearses after this service (Sept – May).

What to Expect on Wednesday Nights

Kids Club is for children from kindergarten through the 6th grade. We meet in the basement fellowship hall. Children enjoy recreation, refreshments, and a Bible lesson.

The adults meet in the auditorium. They sing a few songs, listen to a brief, devotional Bible study, share prayer requests, read missionary prayer letters, and pray.

We invite you to come and check it out!

No matter when you visit, you’ll receive a warm welcome at LBC! Hope to see you soon
